Safety Plus Welcomes New CRO, Tom Barsalou

We are excited to announce the appointment of Tom Barsalou as our new Chief Revenue Officer at Safety Plus. As CRO, Tom will oversee all new revenue-generating functions at Safety Plus, including sales, marketing, partnerships, and revenue operations—working across departments to create a seamless and scalable engine for growth.

Tom brings a wealth of leadership experience to this role, shaped in high-stakes military operations and refined in executive roles in high-growth software companies. Tom’s career has been defined by transformational leadership, creating go-to-market excellence, and demonstrating an unwavering commitment to superb execution and developing his teams.

Tom’s journey from U.S. Army Intelligence Officer and CI Special Agent to the C-suite of SaaS businesses is a testament to his adaptability, strategic thinking, and drive for results. In the business world, Tom most recently served as President of FieldConnect and Aldrich Web Solutions. He led both companies through periods of remarkable growth, achieving over 45% annual sales growth while surpassing revenue and profitability targets.

Tom’s previous experiences include leadership roles at Homesnap (a CoStar company), mHelpDesk, Podium, and Infusionsoft, where he built and scaled high-performing revenue organizations from the ground up. At Homesnap, he grew their customer success team 400% through the acquisition from Costar and merger with Homes.com. At mHelpDesk, he helped lead the team through its acquisition by ANGI, managing growth of the new outbound sales team from zero to thirty account executives in one year.

Chris Atkinson, CEO of Safety Plus, shared his excitement for Tom’s appointment as our CRO:

“Tom brings a unique blend of military precision and business acumen to the table, which is exactly what we need at Safety Plus as we enter our next phase of growth. Tom’s ability to build and lead top-tier revenue teams, align go-to-market strategies, and execute with discipline will make him a tremendous asset to our organization. Specifically, his approach to revenue leadership emphasizes clarity, accountability, and operational alignment, which are a perfect combination as we release and scale our Safety Plus Edge software program.

The bottom line on Tom: he brings a mission-driven mindset that aligns perfectly with the Safety Plus Promise: empowering our customers with the tools, knowledge, and unwavering support needed to ensure every worker returns home safely to their loved ones each day.”

Tom offered his own perspective on joining Safety Plus at this pivotal point in our history:

“Joining Safety Plus as our new CRO is one of the most exciting opportunities of my career. My leadership philosophy centers on leading from the front, developing people, and relentlessly pursuing growth through a customer-focused strategy. I’m passionate about helping companies scale, building GTM teams that win, and empowering organizations through operational excellence. I’m excited to bring all my skills and experience to grow our business and allow as many companies as possible that operate in heavy industries benefit from our worker safety and regulatory compliance programs.”

Beyond business, Tom is a passionate advocate for veteran transitions into the technology industry, and is a dedicated family man. His values of service, empathy, and grit are reflected in every role he takes on—and now, in his new role at Safety Plus, those values will help power our continued growth in the safety and compliance software industry.
